Tumblr Newsies Community, or TNC, was an interconnected group of Newsies fans on Tumblr which existed in 2011[1][2] and 2012.[3] They are credited with naming Blanket. It was probably a name for active and involved fanblogs, which shared fanon and more.
The group name seems to have become largely obsolete by July 2012, at which point fans found the community too toxic to maintain.[4][5] There was also a short-lived revival in 2013.[6]
Claims have been made that a number of members of the original film cast were aware of the TNC. This included Kevin Stea, Mark David, Luke Edwards, Arvie Lowe Jr., and Trey Parker.[7]
