Tribe Sentinel is a Jim/Blair story by Annabell Leigh.

It has a sequel called Progeny.

Reactions and Reviews

Both Blair and Jim feel like they've failed the other after SenII, and they both need and find redemption in this story that throws them in the midst danger and intrigue, and of other Sentinel/Guide Pairs. Again I love stories that explore the nature of the Sentinel and Guide and their bond-which is canonically mystical. This is long and involved, but well worth the trip.[1]

This is a fabulous story that from the beginning became one of my favorites in the Sentinel fandom and remains so today. It definitely has a plot and some really good original characters. These characters don't get involved with J/B either, like so many do. No Mary Sue's here either. In this story Jim and Blair are trying to come to terms with the events in S2P1. Both are blaming themselves and thinking the other person blames them as well. They get some help from some unlikely sources in talking out their pain and that enables them to express it to one another. This series goes in depth into the Sentinel/Guide relationship in an interesting and believable fashion. It had me glued to my seat not wanting to miss a thing. Annabell is a great writer, she has some other works that are terrific. You can find her page with all her work on it Here. The Break, The Unlikely CEO, and Laying on Hands are great. I'll warn you, though, since she doesn't bother to that her story Familiar Stranger deals with some graphic depictions of rape. I found out the hard way and was none to pleased that she didn't give the courtesy of a warning. Especially, since the first sex scene we see was carefully hidden until the last moment that it was a rape. There were subtle hints, but not put together until to late. Be forewarned. Check out her other stuff any way though. (Note: I went to Annabell's site the other day looking to see if there was anything new on it. She now has a warning on Familiar Stranger. Hmmm...Thank goodness.) [2]

Having recently seen "Sentinel Too" (and totally hating part two, by the way) I am a sucker for post-SenToo stories. That said, I must say that Annabelle Leigh's Tribe Sentinel is one of my favorites in this particular genre. With two wonderful OC's (a married Sentinel/Guide pair) and a final end to Alex Barnes (one I would have *loved* to see in the actual episode), this is one hell of a story.[3]

Jim and Blair discover other sentinels -- ones that *aren't* completely nuts. Blair being Blair, this leads to setting up a sentinel/guide support network and then, of course, getting kidnapped. Again. Unlike most stories in fandom that feature a significant number of sentinels, this isn't a slave AU. Instead it's a smart, well-written pair of stories that realistically looks at how a group of sentinels might interact with each other and with their world. The OCs are interesting and well-developed, the sentinel/guide mythology is plausible, and the developing romance between Jim and Blair is full of the angst and h/c we love so much. Excellent on every level.[4]

In this story Blair and Jim try to get over the events in S2P1 and deal with their feelings for one another while trying to protect a couple who has similar problems and a common enemy. This story was written before S2P2 so it goes AU before that episode. I just loved this story. It is beautifully written and has a wonderful plot.(I just love a story with plot.) There is also some angst and hot sex, which I love too. There are some great answers in here to some of the mysteries about Sentinels and their Guides that I found very believable. It is a wonderful tale that is woven very well. [5]
