Author's notes: "Author's Note: This is probably the most researched story I've ever written…that'll teach me to write in a 'realistic' universe, about a real historical period (aka the Cold War). I'm sure I made some mistakes about espionage, country geography, etc., but I really did try and one of the reasons I've not done the sequel is a healthy respect for the amount of work the research would take.
Anyway, for those of you who know The Sandbaggers, this story is set during the last few minutes of and directly after, "Special Relationship." For those of you who don't know the show, I tried to put in enough background that it's understandable…I don't know if I've succeeded or not.
