To the O'Briens With Love is a slash mpreg 124-page novel. It was first published as a print zine, but was later made available online.

Summary

Summary from the print zine publisher Agent With Style: "When a shuttle accident leaves a newly pregnant Keiko O'Brien fighting for her life, her fetus is transferred to the only other person who can possibly keep it alive until they reach DS9 -- Dr. Julian Bashir. Once in sickbay, it's determined that Keiko can't reassume possession of the fetus, so Julian agrees to carry it to full term. This decision affects everyone and everything around him, including his fledgling relationship with the Cardassian tailor, Garak. Garak is positive that the O'Briens have brainwashed Julian into carrying this child; he is repulsed... yet oddly fascinated at the same time."

Author's Notes

Authors notes: Pak Dorran is a character from one of the books. Look for a few other book references as well ie Dax's time travel from Times Enemy #16, Julians medical work on Bajor, the floating spheroid display etc.

Julian really has done all the jobs round the station Idean lists, and more! Personally I think his character 'is' a cannon Mary Sue!

I did do some research on male pregnancy and ectopic pregnancy (when the baby forms out side the womb, with the placenta attaching to bowel, liver or other organs) does occur naturally in women. It's not a great step to having it done, with assistance, for men.

I also talked to a large selection of men and was quite surprised to hear that they would like to be able to have their own babies. Many would like the opportunity to help more with their own children now. So ladies, talk to your fellas. They aren't great apes, you 'can' trust them to watch the baby every now and then.

Men can produce breast milk. They can force it by cutting their nipples and inducing the newborn to suckle (there are instances of shipwrecked/isolated men having to do this because their women died) or from hormonal imbalance. If you know any guys who produce breast milk, do NOT make fun of them, but get them to see a doctor right away as they may have a brain tumor. See here for more.

Some of the more poignant moments in this story come from actual incidents, and one of the many funny ones, where Julian gets pinned on the roof, is also true (although the guy in question had to stay the night like that and got released in the morning by cleaning staff.)

Here is a big thank you to KSBoyd and my Mum for endless beta reading, and Misty from 'Agent With Style' for publishing this story. You are the best guys!

Oh, and in homage to all the slash fen that have gone before me, I give you cinnamon scented Bashir!

Enjoy! [1]
