Third Shift is a Forever Knight Yahoo!Group that, starting in 2002, offered a late morning chat room "for very early risers, late stayer uppers or those who have just gotten off from work", i.e. fans whose daily schedule meant that they were unable to participate in the main FK Fans' chat room. The Third Shift chat room was open around brunch time.
Although they never took part in any of the Forever Knight Wars, the Third Shift are sometimes cited as one of the many factions of Forever Knight fandom.
History
The Third Shift Yahoo!Group was established in March 2002. Although initially its members were quite active, it had effectively ceased operation by 2009. Furthermore, on 5 July 2012, Yahoo! discontinued its Group Chat Rooms.
Faction Icon
In 2012, Greer Watson created an icon for the Third Shift as part of her project to create a set of icons for all the Forever Knight factions. To symbolize the late schedule of the members of the group, its name is printed in a large fancy font whose letters are filled in with an elevated nighttime street scene. The design composits this logo with the Toronto skyline, the CN Tower, and a large picture of the moon (taken from a screen capture).[1]
