Author Comments

From the first issue:

I think a good many zine writers (myself included) tend to stay with one fandom and the stories engendered by its characters. It's warm and safe and to us, these make-believe people are almost real. Let's face it, we know them pretty well.

But, it's interesting, and and a lot of fun to try something different, to explore new ground. And gratifying to find that it wasn't so difficult, after all. I think we all agree that X-Files is a super show, one of the best to come along in a long while. Much as I adore it, I felt that a bit of humor, mixed in with the mysterious, would add a new dimension. Creepy, but with a smile? And that's how the idea for The X-Smiles series was born.... keep on believing!
