The U.S.S. Southern Cross was a Star Trek fan club based in Sydney, Australia.

From a early February 1985 description:

Are you looking to add a little excitement and adventure to your mundane existence? Have you considered Starfleet? Visit exciting planet's, come face to face with genuine aliens; and most of all throw yourself into the research of new and inventive ways to have FUN!!!

If you think you have what it takes to be an Officer of Starfleet, "to boldly go" (yes folks, we do that too) then don’t hesitate.

For A$15. you'll receive a quarterly newsletter from the US and a membership package (which includes membership card, certificate, notepad, stickers, and handbook). And you will also receive the Southern Cross's own bimonthly newsletter - "Scuttlebutt." The affectionate little gossip rag that lets you know what you've been up to.

Don’t wait - Contact our beloved leader NOW!!! [1]
