The Speakeasy is a for-profit 1920s-themed gen Ace Attorney zine.

About

The project was announced on Twitter on March 14, 2019[1]. Interest checks opened the next day and closed on March 31, 2019 with a reported total of 130 responses[2]. Applications for mods and contributors opened on March 16, 2019[3]. Mod applications ended early on April 15[4]. Contributors could continue applying up to May 1, 2019[5].

Preorders opened on October 1, 2019 with the following pricing tiers[6]:

  • The Shimmy Bundle ($12 USD) - Digital Zine
  • The Tango Bundle ($25 USD) - Digital Zine, Phyiscal Zine, Stretch Goals
  • The Foxtrot Bundle ($35 USD) - Digital Zine, Physical Zine, Button, Charms, Sticker Sheets, Random Bookmark
  • The Lindy Hop Bundle ($30 USD) - Digital Zine, Button,Charms, Sticker Sheets, Bookmarks, Stretch Goals
  • The Charleston Bundle ($50 USD) - Digital Zine, Physical Zine, Button,Charms, Sticker Sheets, Bookmarks, Stretch Goals

For only the first day of preorders, The Charleston Bundle was discounted as an early bird special for $45 USD[7]. Stretch goals included a print at 50 orders, an enamel pin at 100 orders, and a memo pad at 150 orders[8]. Preorders closed on October 25, 2020.

All orders were reported to be shipped on January 16, 2020[9]. Leftover sales began the next month, running from February 1 to February 25, 2020[10].
