The Princeton Files is a 191-page gen West Wing anthology of fiction and art.
Editorial
Welcome to the first of what I hope are many more The West Wing zines. In case you're wondering, The Princeton Files gets its name Sam Seaborn's Secret Service code name.
So as you can guess, the stories focus on Sam. However, like the show itself, the stories become wonderful ensemble pieces that involve al of the characters and they way they relate to each other. I hope you win make discoveries about these characters we have come to know and love, just as they discover things about themselves and each other within these pages.
Zine production can be a difficult thing, but this was made easy by all involved. So alow me to take a moment to offer my gratitude...
First, I must thank Red, without whom none of this would be. Her story Demons was the first West Wing fic I read. From the very first page I was riveted to her wonderful story. I know you wil be, too.
It was through Red that I discovered the ESF Fiction List (that's Evil Sam Fans) and I found I was not alone in my obsession. My thanks go out to al the members of the ESF for their support, and the great feedback on my own story.
The second story in this zine is Dodging Water. It was the second story I read. Talk about angst! Thanks so much to Dani for alowing me to include her work, and for al the encouragement. The final story is my own. Shades of Grey. It's the longest story I have ever written, and hopefully, it's my best. I had so much help on this one:
Thanks to Roo, who helped with the characterizations, especially Rashid. She never let me get away with anything.
Thanks again to Dani, who gave me her honest opinion when I needed it, and allowed me to borrow fi-om her life experience for Sam's injury. Luv ya, sister!
Thanks to CyntWa, who put up with me calling her night after night to read scenes over the phone and ask what she thought. So now you'll have a little peace, Cyn. At least until I start my next story...
And, of course, thanks to Kacey, my editor for her unending support, quick replies, and wonderful advice. I really couldn't have done this without you, Kacey! You da woman!
Big thanks to hubby David, who designed the cover. Okay, so I know you're anxious to get to the good stuff. If you're a hurt/comfort fan, this zine is for you!
And just so you know...I'd love to do a second issue, so if you're writing, please send it my way! I could also be talked into The Harvard Files for Josh...
Enjoy!
