The Princess and the Beast is a 39-page het Beauty and the Beast novel by Roni Brown.
Summary: "A fairy tale set in Camelot with all the BatB characters included. Catherine is a princess born blind, cursed by the evil witch Lucretia who was angry because she'd not been invited to the King and Queen of Castle Chandler's wedding festivities. She would remain blind until "the day it can see with its heart what a whole kingdom cannot see with its own eyes". Vincent is a young boy of the kingdom with a kitten face. Jacob is his father. The fairy tale continues from there!
The editor Chris Dolan tells the reader the story was sent to her as a submission for the second volume of the fanzine Through the Eyes of Innocence, a collection of stories by young fans of Beauty and the Beast, but too late for inclusion. The author of this story, Roni Brown, was 16 years old. Sadly, Chris tells us, Roni died two months after completing the fairy tale. The editor describes the tale as full of insightful and sensitive passages too precious and special not to share with BatB fans and typed and copied it as a stand-alone zine."
