The Pixar Theory is an extremely popular, and particularly famous, fan theory in Pixar fandom. It states, in its most basic form, that all the Pixar films take place within the same universe. The theory was created by Jon Negroni, who was inspired by a Cracked.com sketch. The theory not only says that all the movies take place in the the same universe but also works out a timeline and how they are all connected. The theory received quite a bit of press coverage. In 2017 Disney, Pixar's parent company, partially confirmed the theory, saying all the films were in the same universe, but not confirming Negroni's timeline.[1]
