Reactions and Reviews

Oh, my dear. What a talent I was missing in my shallow avoidance of Varoneeka's Bond-titled Picard/Q stories. I had no idea. She created a universe in this story in which Q and Picard must fall in love or else, and the way Q goes about it is more than memorable. I enjoyed the way that Q pounced on Picard -- it reminded me of the playfulness I've tried to write into past stories and which I enjoy seeing in other people's work. The twist ending was poignant, and while I have no wish to give it away, it brought tears to my eyes in a very literal fashion. An amazing story, all the more so because it finally opened my eyes to the very real talent that Varoneeka possesses. Bravo. [1]

I don't generally read Q stories but I really enjoyed this story, in which Q and Picard *have* to fall in love, or else. I liked Q's quirky sense of honor, and especially I liked how Q'd pounce on Picard when he entered his quarters. I also enjoyed the trip out to Voyager. All the characters were believable and the story was altogether intriguing. [2]
