The King's Avatar Calendar 2024 is a free and printable calendar zine project for the year 2024 featuring characters from the The King's Avatar fandom. Public communication was done via Tumblr and private communication via Discord. Each month has drawn calendar art and an accompanying fic. Many of the depictions of the art come from the depictions in the donghua adaptation, though characterisation for the fics seems mostly pulled from the webnovel.

The project was moderated and coordinated by Xan and Ashley.

About

An interest check for a 2024 calendar project was posted. Then, signups were held and a discord server for participants were created. The creation period was from October 2023 to December 2023.

For Artists:

* Fully rendered/colored digital art (no sketches / pictures of traditional art) * Artists will be working with templates—these will be shared at a later time, including the dimensions!

For Writers:

• Fics of 2000 to 5000 words. (It is okay if you go over 5k a bit, but try not to go too overboard).
• The fic must be in English but feel free to translate your fics into a different language!
• Keep it rated T or below, please
• We will be keeping all the fics in a collection on AO3 so please make an account if you don’t already have one!

Rules and Guidelines tumblr post

Creators got time to brainstorm and pitch ideas as well as what they were interested in working on in the server. Authors were requested to share a link to the draft of the fic before posting, in order for the formatting of the calendar (including QR codes) to be done beforehand.

The calendar was posted on Google Drive for download, with the fics posted in an Archive of Our Own collection.
