The Fan Lab is a private online forum run by Wikia and powered by the marketing research company Fuel Cycle. The purpose of the forum is to gather feedback from users from Wikia and Gamepedia wikis, as well as related platforms such as D&D Beyond, Screen Junkies, Muthead, and Futhead. The forum is very member-driven, as moderators often refrain from instigating discussions and exist solely to ensure that discussions remain civil. Before registering, users are required to complete two surveys: The Screener Survey, which determines whether or not the user meets the the site quotas, and The Profiler Survey, in which users select media and activities that interest them.

Discussion in The Fan Lab is organized into three categories:

  • The Open Fan Lab Forum, for general discussion.
  • The Fan Lab Games Forum, for gaming discussion.
  • The Fandom Entertainment Forum, for discussion on entertainment topics, including movies, television shows, books, open mic nights, sporting events, and comedy clubs.
