The Fan Fiction Network was a large multifandom fanfiction archive at FanFic.net active from 1998 to 2000. By November 1999, it hosted more than 2,500 works. The USA Anime FanFic Archive moved to the domain shortly after its closure.
Opening
We want to welcome you to the grand opening of The Fan Fiction Network, the site is a little spartan right now, since it's brand new, but with your help we can make this the largest fan fiction site on Earth. If you are a fanfic writer, be sure and visit Author Registration to set up an account so you can begin uploading your stories right away! If you are not yet a fanfic author, but would like to get started (or if you are an author, and are looking for some good books on how to write even better), visit Author Resources, and Books for Authors for some help.
Closing
After 2 years, fanfic.net is no more. I originally created this site for someone else, but they lost interest in it before I even finished creating it, so it sat for quite some time as we both thought it to be simply abandoned, after a while I discovered that it had mysteriously become well known, so I took over, finished off the things that needed finishing, and ran it myself. Lately, however, the number of immature, inconsiderate, and ungrateful visitors has reached a level that I no longer care to deal with. After having received more angry email than I can count from people who didnt like the way the site was run, or who thought that I wasn't working hard enough to keep things up to date (hint, I never made a dime from this site, and I have a real life too), I have decided to abandon it completely. To all the authors who have contributed to the site over the years I appologize that it has come to this, but the stress that comes from running the site isnt worth it anymore. I recommend you take a look at www.fanfiction.net, I dont know these guys, but their site is great, and I hope all the fanfic.net authors can make a new home there.
