The Downtrodden was a Les Miserables modern AU webseries in-production by Shadow of the Tor. Heavily marketed via Tumblr, the show quickly made the rounds in the fandom and garnered a sizable following.
The pilot episode was released in January 2019 and shortly afterward announced to have been picked up for at least a season by the production company, Shadow of the Tor, which shuttered in 2021 due to misdemeanors by one of its directors. The Downtrodden was not transferred to Pent Up Productions, the successor company to Shadow of the Tor founded by its other directors. Instead the rights reverted to its writer and director, Dorian Ravenscroft. The series' Tumblr account has been defunct since April 2019 and the pilot has since been privated.
