The Darkfire Saga is a gen Star Wars: The Phantom Menace 160-page novel published in 2001 and written by Padawan Daroa. The story includes many original characters.
It won the the 2002 FanQ award for 'Best Stand-Alone Star Wars zine'.
The cover is by Yum, the inside art by C. Lerch.

Summary from the flyer:
Qui-Gon Jinn and his young apprentice, Obi-Wan Kenobi, face their greatest challenge in the form of a dark Jedi assassin known to the underworld as, Darkfire. When Darkfire joins forces with Qui-Gon's fallen former apprentice, Xanatos, it will be all they can do to survive. In an epic adventure stretching from the hallowed halls of the Jedi Temple on Coruscant to the frozen wasteland of Hoth. Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan along with several other Jedi are in the for the fight of their lives to escape the wrath of....Darkfire!
