Editorial

From the editorial:

The first issue of 'the Corollian Jedi" is a rather small one, but I believe I've gotten a nice bit of quality work in here.

This is my first attempt at publishing although I've been editing my local SF club's newsletter for the last two years, and all-in-all, I must say I'm really pretty pleased with the results. I'm looking forward to publishing more in the next few years.

Since the title "The Corellian Jedi" gives the impression that this is a Star Wars zine, the name will be changed to "Worldgates" for the next issue. I could start using it now, but the first story is such a good explanation of the present title that I can't resist it.

Please note that this is a genzine — a generalized fanzine — in spite of that fact that this has turned out to be an almost all-Star Wars issue. I will accept almost anything that is of a reasonable length (about 10 pages, single-spaced, 20 double-spaced), is relatively free of typos and misspellings (I don't mind doing some corrections, but don't count of me catching them all — if there are too many typos or misspellings, I won't even consider the piece.) and the grammar and syntax look correct. Please make your submissions in manuscript form (typed). I prefer science fiction, but I won't turn down something just because it's another type. I will be more likely to accept SF over Starsky & Hutch or any other police-type (or similar) material. Stories do not have to be based on any existing book, movie or TV series. I'd very much enjoy getting some original fiction.

This issue has two poems & three stories — two short-shorts and one longer one — and a speculation. One thing it does lack is ARTWORK. I AM NOT AN ARTIST — on paper, anyway. In case you don't realize it, folks, this is a plea for art for the next issue, as well as stories and LoCs. I plan semi-yearly issues. The deadline for #2 is 1 February 1983. With luck, I may get #2 out before my husband and I go to Germany next spring (unless the Air Farce changes its mind about sending us there.

'Til next time.

Live Long and Prosper,
Peace and Long Life,
May the Force be with You,
Tanstaafl,
And all the other sayings that we've gained from science fiction.)
