I am a sucker for post knighting/Qui-Gon still alive stories. I find this story a refreshing change from traditional first time stories. She starts out with a lovely portrayl of Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan's padawan apprentice relationship. There is a delightful warmth conteracted by some great Obi-angst. [...]What really makes this story memorable for me, is the fact that Obi-Wan dislikes sex. It's a twist, but perfectly reasonable in the context of the characterization and plot. Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon's relationship isn't about the sex, it's about their history together. But also, Emu keeps within Obi-Wan's character by having him motivated to do things due to his sense of duty, or he feels he is expected to do things which he may find distasteful.[1]
