Reactions and Reviews

This is a fanfic I just have to read every once in awhile. Vickie did a great job combining the mythology of the black cancer with some serious Mulder/Scully angst, and I loved that her Scully was the hero of this story... using science to cure Mulder of the black cancer. The wooden-headed one, Marita, made an appearance, and Scully was appropriately snitty with her. I love it!

My favorite part of this fanfic is a letter that Mulder wrote to Scully for her to read if he died during the procedure she was performing to cure him. Well, Scully accidentally (really!) opened the letter, and then read it ON PURPOSE. In the letter Scully discovers that Mulder has left her a sizable amount of money that he had inherited from his grandparents.... enough to take care of her for the rest of her life. Then he goes on to say, "When you find Samantha, tell her I love her. Tell yourself that, too. You mean more to me than I ever thought another person could." Scully folds up the letter and crawls into the bed next to Mulder's and cries herself to sleep. I find new things to love about this story every time I read it. [1]
