Overview
A teen comedy drama, Teenage Bounty Hunters follows twins Sterling and Blair as they end up working as bounty hunters after they accidentally crash their father's truck into the car of a bail jumper and detain him.
While getting deeper into the bounty hunter world as they earn the money to repair the damage to their father's truck, it becomes increasingly difficult for the pair to balance the bounty hunting with maintaining the appearance of a regular life at their Christian high school.
Cancellation
In October 2020, it was announced that Teenage Bounty Hunters would not return for a second season[1], leaving the show on a cliffhanger. There was a lot of disappointment at the decision, as well as frustration that Teenage Bounty Hunter and other popular shows had been cancelled, but the poorly rated Emily in Paris had been renewed around the same time [2]. The show's cancellation is often included in discussions about the number of sapphic-led shows cancelled from 2020 onward.

History of the fandom

The show had a moderately sized fandom while on air and there was a great deal of disappointment when it was cancelled. On Tumblr, GIF sets were popular and fan exchanges were set up for the show. On Twitter there continue to be posts and discussions about Teenage Bounty Hunters years after its cancellations and a number of fannish Twitter accounts were set up during the show's run, such as out of context scene posting accounts. After it's cancellation, a number of online efforts to get the show renewed were attempted.
Characters and Pairings
As well as leads, Sterling and Blair, other main characters of the show included: their bounty hunter mentor, Bowser Jenkins; the twins' parents, Anderson and Debbie Wesley; students at Willingham Academy, including canonical love interests for the twins, Luke Creswell, April Stevens, and Miles Taylor; and staff from the school.
While discussions of all canonical pairings were relatively common on Twitter and other social media, on Archive of Our Own, the small fandom for Teenage Bounty Hunters skews towards F/F works then Gen:
- April Stevens/Sterling Wesley - The canonical rivals to lovers pairing from the show is the most popular ship on AO3.
