Team Top Hat is a group of fans creating fangames and rom hacks based on the Professor Layton series.
The team is divided into two divisions. The first is working on Layton Editor, an engine to create fan-made Layton games, based upon a ROM of the second game. While, the second division is developing an unreleased fangame titled Professor Layton and the Thespian’s Curse.
The Layton Editor has been released on GitHub and has since been used to make several unreleased fangames.[1]
About
Team Top Hat is a dedicated team of Programmers, Voice Actors, Artists, Musicians, Writers, Puzzle Creators, and Beta Testers here to bring you more Layton games. Unlike other teams, we are not making a fangame with Unity or another engine, we are attempting to create a romhack of 'Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box'. The difference between a fangame and a romhack is that, within a fangame, you have to attempt to simulate the Layton feel, while a romhack already gives you the feel, and you just need to edit.[2]
