Tanner Pearson and Tyler Toffoli were both players for the Los Angeles Kings before being traded to other teams, including a brief stint where they both played for the Vancouver Canucks. They started playing professional hockey for the Kings' minor league affiliate, the Manchester Monarchs, before being a part of the Kings' team that won the cup in 2014. They became best friends while they played for the Monarchs and their friendship has continued to grow since. There are many (almost) canonical photos of the two on both Pearson's and Toffoli's Instagrams.
There isn't much fanfiction on Toffoli and Pearson and the first one was written in July of 2015. They are known for being a secondary pairing.
