Talk:Trope Detox
Adding tropes...
Hello Craspedia, good afternoon, I noticed that as you were the person who created the page and added so much content about the trope, you should direct me to your person to solve some doubts. The omegaverse trope has a large number of works that deviate from the standards and stereotypes that the genre may have (such as hyperfeminine male omegas used and abused by their alphas). Could we then say that, unlike trope inversion, a Detox is taking place? -- Hesse, KB Ella (talk) 18:00, 23 January 2022 (UTC)
Hi Ellakbhesse! I think "detoxed" a/b/o fics can be a very good example, yes! Since the "classic" a/b/o script usually involves hypermasculinity, an overexaggeration of gender roles, sexism in the form of defining people and their gender expression by reproductive function, and often definitely not a lot of consent if the lust comes through the pheromones and not psychologically because they, like, WANTED to bone real bad? So yes, an a/b/o fic that intentionally sets out to flip those scripts, bring in consent, free choice, reduced gender role fixation, trying to get rid of toxic masculinity and 'naturalistic' talk, then this fic would absolutely be a trope detox in my opinion!-- Craspedia (talk) 18:14, 23 January 2022 (UTC)
Thanks, I'll try to look on my AO3 and friends' readings page for omegaverse works that we've been reading that run away from these stereotypes. I already have one in mind that has sadly been removed from the site by the author, but which I'm sure has been republished recently -- Ellakbhesse (talk) 18:40, 23 January 2022 (UTC)
Removal of categories
Why did the bot used by Pinky G Rocket remove the trope category if this article is a trope? Ellakbhesse (talk) 21:36, 17 April 2022 (UTC)
I was a little confused -- Ellakbhesse (talk) 21:37, 17 April 2022 (UTC)
