Talk:Probe (Star Trek: TOS zine)
Probe has many articles about racism (both in fandom and elsewhere), and this generated much discussion in the zine series. The page needs a section about these topics, as well as how Howlett's comments and fanworks were juxtaposed with his views and statements on homosexuality. MPH 12:37, 8 June 2023 (UTC)
- Given that "Probe" was one of the few fanzines published by an African-American editor, I guess it's not surprising that Howlett did a lot of essays on racism. My memory is that in those days the homophobia that was present in all US society was even *more* prevalent in both the black and Latino communities. I have all but one issue of Probe, so when I have time I'll try to look up some of what he wrote, and how LOCs responded. Chavey (talk) 18:36, 8 June 2023 (UTC)
