Talk:Precure

My recommendation would be to remove all of the information in the Canon section, as this is info that can be found elsewhere, and not Fanlore's focus. MPH 14:09, 22 April 2024 (UTC)

Hi, I can see where you are coming from, but I don't believe that is the best idea. Precure is a long-running magical girl series, which is not just one individual 'season'. As you can see in the canon section, there have been 20+ Precure seasons, with 19 individual seasons; each with their own characters, setting, plot, world-building etc. If you want to remove information in the section, I would remove the episode count. I would not remove the other information.

I would keep the season number as it allows for easy identification of the season your talking about, and the season number is often referenced when you mention the series in fandom discussions. I would keep the name of the seasons as they are all, simply because they are unique Precure seasons and their inclusions allows for the relevant linking of the pages for each series; as each season has individual fandom associated with it. I would keep the generation information as it shows which seasons are connected to each other and which have the same characters, useful information for discussing fandom links. The run of each season, while not as fandom relevant, allows for fans to see when each season was made, which dates how old the fandom for each season is.

The Glitter Force section of the page discusses fandom opinions as a focus. While I admit, there is a portion of it devoted to explaining what it is, the explanation is mainly focused on how fans reacted to Glitter Force, an official English dub of Precure.

If you would like another fix, I believe that the name of 'Canon' may be misleading and a title such as 'Overview' may be more suited to the information provided in the section. This section of the page has already been shortened, with basic information about each series moved off the page as it made it a very long page and distracted from the fandom content on the page. To summarise: I believe the table in the 'Series and Seasons' subheading provides basic information to users, that indicates key facts about the individual seasons that are relevant to the individual fandom of each season. Also, that the 'Glitter Force' subheading provides perspectives from fans about the Glitter Force dubs.

I hope this clears things up and helps you understand the issue more clearly, please tell me your thoughts. MapleSchmaple (talk) 03:59, 23 April 2024 (UTC)
