Does anyone else have memories of this term having been coined on Tumblr? I seem to recall a specific post consisting of only a few lines that was built on the OTP/NOTP pun and the post becoming viral on the site. It might have had reblogs that also coined the OT3 term. - I actually have no recollection of the post you're mentioning. I do remember not seeing NOTP anywhere in fandom while I was still on LJ, back then if a hatred for a ship was super strong some people referred to it as a squick.
