Does it say, "Novel Concepts #2" or "Angel Concepts #2 or something else on the front? Mrs. Potato Head 11:22, 25 September 2009 (UTC)

And, the publisher's website says this novel is NC-17 and won a Huggy Award. Does this make it het or slash? [1] Mrs. Potato Head 13:58, 25 September 2009 (UTC)

This story is neither het nor slash, it's gen but rapefic, or rather rape recovery as it is a sequel to The Devil You Know, and NC-17 because of the violence, iirc.--Ratcreature 14:19, 25 September 2009 (UTC)

Thanks. So, should I label it "adult gen"? Or something else? Mrs. Potato Head 14:22, 25 September 2009 (UTC)

I mentioned the violence and that it has an adult rating because of that (as in zine descriptions otherwis 'adult' usually tends to mean explicit het), but I'd just label it plain 'gen' far as the genre goes, because the current dominant usage of that term doesn't imply a "general audience" rating, but is just the gen/het/slash/femslash genre division.--Ratcreature 14:33, 25 September 2009 (UTC)
ETA: Also to me it looks like "Novel Concepts #2" on the cover.--Ratcreature 14:35, 25 September 2009 (UTC)
I've seen that on a couple of zines, "Sirocco" one of them. Note to self: find out more. Mrs. Potato Head 14:37, 25 September 2009 (UTC)
Maybe the Novel "imprint" sublabel of Skeeter Press? I.e. something they put on their novels to distinguish them from anthology zines? BTW, looking at the zine's page at the Skeeter site it seems that the zine edition collects both The Devil You Know and Masks (at least the teaser starts with TDYK), and only titled it like the longer second story. Probably because TDYK is not novel-length, so it couldn't be a zine on its own. I only read these online when they first came out, and then it was obviously two stories, like it is now on the author's site too.--Ratcreature 14:44, 25 September 2009 (UTC)
