Talk:Guardian of Forever

There was apparently also a regular-type trekzine with a very similar title, "The Guardian of Forever," circa 1972, advertised in the final issue (#16, March '72) of DECK 6 (the only mention of it in D6):

The Guardian of Forever, an all ST zine, is available from Bruce Nardoci, xxx Glenwood Road, Asheboro NC 27203, for 65¢ for one or $1.75 for three.

That wording sounds like it had already been published and was available for purchase, but that's all I know about it, so it could have been just positive thinking.

Oh, wait a minute -- the Fanlore listing for T-Negative #12 (October '71) says this:

Bruce Nardoci says he's changing the name of his zine from The Captain's Log to "The Guardian of Forever", though it is unclear if this zine got off the ground. This is probably not the same zine as Guardian of Forever.

I see (on the Fanlore page) that Bruce's Captain's Log is the same as Craig Fincannon's (with Craig as editor and Bruce as writer). So there had already been two issues under that name. Perhaps Bruce was going out on his own? In any case, it was presumably intended to be the same sort of zine (I'd say definitely not the same publication as the 80's fan novel) -- and may have actually been published.
