Date: 01/03/2009 Debate on 5th century politics! Such an interesting era. Thank you.
BTW: Have you also read Rosemary Sutcliff's *Flowers of Adonis* set in the same period?
From: Quillori Date: 12/31/2008 Beautifully written. Very much in keeping with the book.
From: my_cnnr Date: 12/30/2008 Both men, it seems, have agreed there are things not to be spoken of; this is an interesting and believeable use of their ability to close certain doors.
From: Rubynye Date: 12/28/2008 You have reminded me of reading The Last of the Wine for the first time, falling in love with Alexias and Lysis as they fell in love with each other. This is a sweet and fitting expansion of a briefly covered time in the book.
From: True River Date: 12/26/2008 I really enjoyed the detail too - and some satisfying tenderness at the end! ;)
From: queen_ypolita Date: 12/25/2008 I love the detail in this

Date: 12/25/2008 Thank you so much for this lovely story. I am so excited. I didn't even dare to hope for Last the Wine and Lysis and Alexias. This is just so completely true to them and something I have actually thought about! My favorite line: "'But an offer is not the same, and I wanted to, even if it is not a man's proper role,' said Alexias." So very Lysis to worry and so Alexias to give and not feel diminished by the giving, whatever the ethics of the day might be in relation to the act. I adore them both in the texts, and you captured them perfectly for me. I complete believe this entire scenario. You made me very pleased tonight.
I will read it again and again and am sure that I will see more to love, but just couldn't wait to be more thoughtful--needed to rush a huge thank you to you right now.
I am delighted--
Oshun
