Talk:Chappell Roan

There was a big fan/artist event recently where Chappell Roan was getting a lot of harassment, people overstepping boundaries, behaving in inappropriate ways, and doing things like going as far as to stalk her family. She released a video pushing back on how this has been normalised if someone is seen as enough of a celebrity and it's not acceptable, and there was a lot of discussion around it, with all kinds of reactions. I'm not even sure how to begin summarising it, but I'm putting some links here for now in case anyone in the future finds them helpful:
- The original video posted by Roan about what was happening
- A follow-up video from Roan
- A video about Roan's two videos and some reactions by lacroix_goth. The comments section has more discussions.
- Another video by lacroix_goth, responding to a comment
- Scottie Andrew, 'Chappell Roan’s comments about invasive fans show that we never really know our favorite celebrities', CNN, Archived version - An article about Roan's videos and the responses, as well as some discussions about celebrities and the fandoms, and TikTok and parasocial relationships/boundaries more generally
