In late 1988 or early 1989, a progress report for Freedom City advertised a set of gift cards for sale. They included the art from the front of Powerplay #3. The inside inscription was "Take Kerr!"
These cards were sold as a fundraiser for the convention, specifically to pay for the guest's fees and other expenses.
Darrow had been an invited guest of honor, but he (and several other invited guests) did not attend.
The Blake's 7 Wars had broken out shortly after this progress report, something that may have influenced his (and other's) decision.
