Why this must be read: because alternative reality stories are so sublime - and fun.This story starts out with a cute girl falling through the Stargate. The girl it turns out is Margaret Sheppard McKay from the year 2014. It seems somewhere in the future Rodney and John have had a child - their biological child. Needless to say the two men in this reality are a bit freaked that their alter egos are gay, but with time, Maggie wins them over to the idea of them as a family - and them as a couple.
And before you run into the hills screaming, "kidfic," know that this story is more about John and Rodney learning how to be good parents and the possibilities that Maggie existence opens up for them.
This is a truly lovely story and I'd love to see a sequel to see exactly how Maggie came about. *g* [1]
