Sunny Day is a zine for Katekyo Hitman Reborn centered around the daily life of the characters. The zine was made in celebration of the 10th anniversary of the manga's finale.

About

The zine was announced on April 9, 2022, on Twitter with links to a Google Document on the project's details. The project was decided from the beginning to be daily-life themed and for profit. The name, "Sunny Day", comes from "Funny Sunny Day" by SxOxU, the seventh opening theme of the show. The organizers meant for the name to "invoke feelings of nostalgia and happy times like studying at Tsuna’s house". Contributers were permitted to portray any characters from the show so long as they were set in their respective timelines.

An interest check was run from April 16 to May 14, 2022. A report of the results gathered from the interest check was posted on May 21, 2022. Based on the 208 responses received in total, the organizers decided to make the project a safe for work, general zine that would be published physically, digitally, and packaged with merch on the side. Contributor applications for artists, merch artists, and writers opened from May 28 to June 25, 2022. Results were emailed out by July 4, 2022. A full contributor lineup was posted on July 18, 2022.

Preorders opened on November 12, 2022, with the following pricing tiers:

• Mafioso ($20 USD) - A5 Digital Zine
• Guardian ($25 USD) - A5 physical zine
• Boss ($45 USD) - A5 physical zine, 2 prints, 2 stickers, sticker sheet, 14 foil character cards
• Famiglia ($65 USD) - A5 physical zine, 2 prints, 2 stickers, sticker sheet, 14 foil character cards, 2 acrylic charms, washi tape, enamel pin

Stretch goals for physical bundles included a zipper pouch at 50 ordres, a PVC coaster at 75 orders, and a foil cover upgrade for physical zines at 100 orders. A giveaway for a full bundle was hosted from December 10 to December 24, 2022. Preorders closed on December 30, 2022.

Shipping of physical orders was announced to begin after July 5, 2023, the deadline for address changes. All physical orders were shipped out by August 1, 2023. Digital orders were sent out on the same day. The project's online store reopened for leftovers from October 26 to November 19, 2023. Leftovers were extended until December 7, 2023.
