Illo interp. Spock accompanies Kirk to his Iowa home on an ill-fated home leave in which we learn that Mrs. Kirk is an alien-hater. In one short page, Spock falls ill from an allergy to sunflowers and waxes eloquent (at least in internal monologue) about the sun flowering in Kirk's hair. Nice touch is Spock's conclusion that McCoy was wrong, "you can go home, but you will wonder why you bothered." [1]
