Sufficient Velocity is a message board, created as an offshoot of SpaceBattles in 2014. It hosts fanfiction, fan quests, and fannish discussions of media, in addition to general discussion boards.

Sufficient Velocity was founded on April 20, 2014 after splintering away from SpaceBattles.[1] The name of the forum originates from a meme on the SpaceBattles forum, where the answer to 'how many X can defeat Y' is "One, at sufficient velocity". The forum organizes events and contests on a regular basis.

SV has a broad variety of fanfics, and is known for its many fan quests as well as its large number of Worm fics.

Tagging
In 2024, SV introduced tagging, with 6 tag categories: Genre, Setting, Character, Format, Content and Uncategorised. The tagging system included the ability for tags to be synonymous to other tags or parents of other tags.[2]
