Stealing Harry is a Remus/Sirius fanfic by copperbadge.
Reactions and Reviews
A fabulous AU where Sirius didn't go to Azkaban, Remus works in Sirius' bookstore, and together they rescue an 8-year-old Harry from the Dursleys and raise him on their own with help from the Weasleys and, of all people, Severus Snape. A charming fic showing bits of Hogwarts before Harry's era, many familiar faces and canon elements, dangers of various sorts, an adorable-yet-wise child!Harry and, of course, Sirius and Remus. Love, friendship and family make this a story to read again and again.[1]
This one is a classic in the Wolfstar fandom, and [creaky old voice] in the olden days it was probably the most rec’d after Shoebox. It is quite good, and like all of copperbadge’s fics, very well-written. Remus & Sirius steal Harry from the Dursleys’ and raise him together, starting a relationship along the way. The series is often Harry-centric (though there’s plenty of Wolfstar in Stealing Harry) and it becomes much more so in Laocoon’s Children.[2]
The ur-Raising Harry fic? I was going to write “the granddaddy of all Raising Harry fics” but that felt super weird (and I still just did it). A misdirected owl sets off a chain of events that keeps Sirius out of Azkaban, so he and Remus spy on Harry until they realize what’s actually going on at the Dursleys. A funny, beautifully-plotted, self-contained novel, and I just read it for the 15th time and it was still a joy.[3]
