Star Ocean (スターオーシャン) is the name of a series of video games created by the Japanese game developers tri-Ace, and published by Enix (later Square-Enix.)
List of Games
- Star Ocean, the first game, originally released on the Super Famicom in Japan in 1996. An enhanced port was released on PSP in 2007 under the name Star Ocean: First Departure., and an official English translation was released for the first time.
- Star Ocean: The Second Story, originally released on Playstation in Japan in 1998. It was released in the US in 1999 and in Europe in 2000. An enhanced port was released on PSP in 2008 (Japan) and 2009 (US and Europe) under the name Star Ocean: Second Evolution.
- Star Ocean: Blue Sphere, a direct sequel to The Second Story, released only in Japan on Game Boy Color in 2001.
- Star Ocean: Til the End of Time, a sequel set four hundred years after Blue Sphere, released in Japan on Playstation 2 in 2003. It was released in the US and Europe in 2004.
- Star Ocean: The Last Hope, a prequel to the series, released worldwide on XBox 360 and Playstation 3 in 2009 and 2010.
- Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness, announced in 2015 as being in development for Playstation 3 and Playstation 4. It will be set between The Second Story and Til the End of Time.
