"Dear Friends:"
Hi! Guess you didn't expect to hear from me again, so soon, did you? Well I didn't either. However, some rather important things have come up and I wanted you to hear as soon as possible.
STAR TREK HAS BEEN RENEWED!!! We ill have 24 weeks of OUR HERO, SPOCK LEONARD NIMOY!!! NOW, LET US GET READY FOR NEXT SEASON!!!!
Cole includes descriptions of nine club members and their duties, then:
These girls are the reason you have a successful club. Many of you know I have a heart as nutty and unpredictable as I am, so a good hard working local staff is vital to the success of this club. I call the first four girls the Mighty Four. If I ever had to turn the club over to anyone on a temporary basis it would be to these four. Because I have showed them what to do and they follow orders, or come up with an even quicker way, they are the only ones I feel could run the club as I want it. Do I have the right to feel these girls come first? You are darn right I do. They should for all of you as well. I am sure they do now. The local staff are local by name only.
Alan Bryan Cole, my son, does not attend the meetings. However, he can be counted on to go to the post office, office supply houses, the store, etc., to get what even he is asked to get. He helps to decorate and entertain at the club parties. Alan's records are always available to the club for meetings or parties. When he is home at a time we are having a meeting, he creates a diversion that can be hilarious with his imitations of Flip Wilson, Bill Cosby, or any other comic he can think of. Then he is off to get refreshments. Alan likes, Spock, Scotty and Dr. McCoy the best, the color blue, Donovan, the Beatles, Simon & Garfunkle, girls, (how'd that get in there?) Kookie Green Knutt, drinks, Dr. Pepper and Romulan Rum (Coke).
Harriett Gonser, my mother, who is 73 years young. I mean young too, she is younger than I am. She doesn't attend the meetings but is a very helpful part of the club and we couldn't do with out her. Her faves are Spock, Spock, Spock, & Scotty & McCoy the best. She likes the colors violet and blue, Laurence Welk and Dean Martin are her fave groups. (Yes, I call Martin a group.) She drinks Tholian Gin (Fresca).

Yet more things for sale:
Now is the time for all good STAR TREK fans to come to the aid of OUR
SHOW!!! NBC, here we come!!! For 25 cents and a long SASE (legal size will do) you will receive a sticker 7 1/2 x 3/4 that says SAVE STAR TREK WRITE NBC. THEY CAN BE PASTED ON ANYTHING — school notebooks, telephone poles, market bulletin boards, buildings, cars etc. It is black with green fluorescent letters that are rreeaallllyy bright! i! So...come on and be heard!!! WE WON'T GIVE UP WITHOUT A FIGHT!!!... ALL PROFITS TO UNICEF.
Some guerilla warfare [1]
Picture, if you will, NBC's response to this. “What would happen if 100,000 fans each sent NBC a dollar bill or two?-—together with a plea to keep ST on the air. A very low cost to each fan—and unprecedented commotion at the other end an NBC finally dug what was going on. Hired new office-help to keep the running tab, wondered when on earth it would-stop, etc, quite a stir, a definite "first." Can't think of a better attention-getting device. Or fans could send dollars to ST sponsor:... "Dear Arrid: the enclosed is to help defray any losses you feel you may have suffered due to Star Trek's supposedly low ratings, as indicated by the stupid and unreliable ratings-system...." In all, it would create an awkward situation, and might get the bigwigs to thinking about the value of such dedicated viewers. Picture NBC with 200 grand on its hands -— with the choice of either returning it to senders (what a job!), or financing an additional episode with it, or......?
Sure we have 6 more shows, now, but what of next season. Are we going to let them play footsie with us as usual? No! Write as a fan and DO NOT 'MENTION ANY CONNECTION WITH A FAN CLUB. SPOCK IT TO THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If your money is returned send it right back with another letter. Keep my name out of this. I ain't never heard of the SPOCK'S SCRIBES. What is it? Hum a few bars and I'll drink to it.

- ^ This is a similar to the rallying call proposed in Galileo 7 #2 (February 1969): "Keep those cards and letters coming in, folks, and also those beautiful pennies. You might also be sure to put your return address on some of them. Reason: the NBC secretary told me that everything has to be returned....and if you send three cents NBC has to spend 6 cents returning it to you, not to mention bookkeeping, addressing, etc. Also write to CBS and ABC--NOW. The sooner the better. And if you like, send them money, too. Let them know you really support the show. Tell them you’re behind it and willing to support it even to the point of monetary backing. But write NOW. There is no time to waste. Both GET SMART and THE GHOST AND MRS. MUIR have been dropped by NBC and picked up by CBS. So WRITE we’re not sunk yet."
