The page of a Web site that the user sees first before being given the option to continue to the main content of the site[1]
On fansites splash pages could feature artwork or animated gifs, a quick summary about the site so visitors could decide whether they wished to enter, or a warning that the site contained mature or explicit content or materials dealing with same sex relationships.
