Spellweaver is a zine centered around the character Aqua from the Kingdom Hearts game.

About

Interest checks for the zine began on October 10, 2020, and ended on the last day of that month[1]. During this period, the mod team proposed to followers the idea of a small music album as an add-on to bring a musical component to the project, to which followers voted in a poll enthusiastically for this idea[2]. The project reported over 100 responses[3].

Mod applications opened for a finance, graphics, and music mod on November 6, 2020, and would run until November 25, 2020[4]. Applications for artists, merch artists, writers, and musicians opened on January 8 until February 5, 2021[5].

Preorders ran from June 21 to July 30, 2021, with the following pricing tiers[6]:

  • Ghost Drive ($15 USD) - Digital Zine, Digital Album and Booklet, Digital Wallpapers, Icon
  • Diamond Dust ($25 USD) - Physical Zine, Digital zine, Digital Merch
  • Sky Climber ($35 USD) - Physical Zine, Digital zine, Digital Merch, Die-cut Stickers, Sticker Sheet
  • Rhythm Mixer ($55 USD) - Physical Zine, Digital zine, Digital Merch, Die-cut Stickers, Sticker Sheet, Acrylic Charm, Enamel Pin, Washi Tape

Stretch goals included a postcard and recipe card at 25 orders, a notepad at 50 orders, an acrylic standee at 100 orders, and a silver foil upgrade to physical zine covers at 150 orders[7]. An additional stretch goal was announced on July 29, 2021, featuring a candy bag charm at 200 orders[8].

Shipping of physical orders began on November 26, 2021[9].

Leftovers opened on February 14, 2022[10]. During this time, the project offered a limited time discount. Leftovers closed on March 21, 2022[11]. The project was declared complete on April 2, 2022[12].
