Spellbound was a zine planned to feature fanart of the Haikyuu!! pairing Semi Eita/Shirabu Kenjirou. The project was discontinued before release due to overlap with the failure of Sincerely Yours (Haikyuu Zine).
About
The theme for the SemiShira zine is “mystic”. Whether it be mystical shadow work or a mythical mystery—it’s up to the contributors’ own interpretations! The contributors can get inspiration from anything mystical; astrology, crystals, tarot cards… there are endless ideas.[1]
Interest checks opened on September 17, 2021 and ended on October 17, 2021. Mod applications opened October 4, 2021 and ended October 14, 2021. Contributor applications opened on November 30, 2021 and ended December 12, 2021. After this, the project entered creation period, so the Twitter account was last seen sharing related fanart and posting occasional promotional updates. The project was expected to be released some time in May 2022.
Updates to the blog stopped after one of their mods Vali, was revealed for her involvement in Sincerely Yours (Haikyuu Zine). As of current, only the following statement remains on their carrd, announcing the discontinuation of the project:
Due to the events of the Sincerely Yours Zine, the contributors of this zine have stepped down. Those events had a ricochet effect on this zine and most stepped down due to the stress and unfairness it caused.All the contributor’s accounts are listed below where you can go support them and check out their work. All the works created for Spellbound are being compiled in a Twitter Moment which is linked below. (Please note, it is still being updated.)
