A ''portmanteau'' (or [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Portmanteau portmanteau word]) is when two words or names are combined (or "smooshed") to form one word. Used for [[pairing]]s in many [[fandom]]s, like [[Smallville]], [[Sherlock]] and [[Popslash]].
