Summary
R409 is a lifeless world, frozen in silence for many thousnds years. Yet something on that world contacted Deanna Troi. It sent her a warning. What will Troi risk to find to source of that warning? How can she find something she can't explain, even to herself? Here is Troi as we've only glimpsed her, strong, determined, alien. Here too is the story of those whose lives are interwtwined with her's, and of one person in particular who loves her. It's the story of a new way of listening that spans distance and time.[1]
From the Publisher's Flyer
This story started out as an exploration of the character of Deanna Troi, a character the author felt had been left largely undeveloped by the series and by writers. It grew beyond that to include other people, other ideas. It grew to what it is now: a story of individuals, but also of the interconnections that bind us all.
