Soriku Ever After is a fairy-tale themed zine for the pairing SoRiku from Kingdom Hearts. The project was made by the same team who organized Cross the Line.

About

Using the same accounts from a former zine project, Cross the Line, an announcement was posted with the zine title and concept on June 23, 2020[1]. The zine would be a collection of fairy tales and folktales centered around SoRiku. The project would feature a digital and physical zine, merchandise, and secret content. The preorder date was announced to be August 14, 2020.

Compared to the team's previous project, there was no application period, as this zine was already being organized after Cross the Line was completed, and former contributors were interested in returning to participate. The mods also wanted to keep the zine team small while working during the COVID-19 pandemic[2].

Preorders began on September 1, 2020, with the following pricing tiers[3]:

  • Digital Zine Only ($15 USD) - Digital Zine
  • Long Ago & Far Away ($20 USD) - Digital Zine, Audiobook
  • Once Upon A Time ($25 USD) - Physical Zine, Foil Bookmark
  • True Love's Kiss ($40 USD) - Physical Zine, Foil Bookmark, Book Locket Necklace, Embroidered Patch, Washi Tape
  • Happily Ever After ($60 USD) - Physical Zine, Foil Bookmark, Book Locket Necklace, Embroidered Patch, Washi Tape, Enamel Pin Set, Acrylic Standee

The audiobook version of the zine could be added to physical orders for $10 USD. A music box, originally presented as a mystery item that unlocked at 100 orders, was available as an add-on for $10 USD[4]. At 150 orders, an gold foil cover upgrade to the physical zine was announced[5]. Preorders ended at midnight on October 30, 2020[6]. Digital copies of the zine reopened for order again starting March 12, 2021[7].

A shipping update came out on April 20, 2021, to report that their necklace manuafacturer experienced another delay, delaying shipping of physical bundles to May. As compensation, the creative team organized a free mini digital booklet of new content for all customers who did not receive their orders[8].

In a new update on June 10, 2021, the team reported that their manufacturer did not give enough items needed to fulfill orders. Instead, the team would offer a pin in the shape of the locket as an alternative merch solution, and a form was sent out to buyers to choose from an A grade or B grade version of the necklace, or the proposed replacement pin[9]. Buyers who chose a replacement pin would have their bundle and pin shipped separately. All preorders were fulfilled by August 18, 2021[10].

Second sales began on August 19, 2021, until supplies ran out[11]. The project closed on October 3, 2021[12].
