Son of Monolith is a Star Trek: TOS comic strip fanzine written and published by Michael Goodwin. It was published by Intergalactic Press and contains approximately 60 plus pages. It is unclear if this was a licensed book or a fan publication; however the comic did obtain an ISBN number. It was the second of two comic strip books, the first is Who Was That Monolith I Saw You With.

From the Author's Introduction

Fifteen years ago, back in the dark ages of Science Fiction fandom, I wrote a book. It had the ungainly title of Who Was That Monolith I Saw You With? and it was my first foray into fannish publishing. Happily, it wound up in a small professional publishing house and got national distribution and won me a very small amount of fame and actually made a few people smile. I eventually did a few sequels, along with a bunch of other publication odds and ends.

That was a long time ago and a different place in the universe. There have been a lot of changes in the world, and not a few in my own life. One of these is my son, Robert. This past year he went through the first grade and learned to read. One of his favorite books has been the original Monolith book. So, with his gentle insistence, (and a few of his cartoon ideas and drawings), I have penned this new sequel for him. I have had a lot of help along the way through my years in fandom, and I have never fully expressed my appreciation for these people, who unselfishly encouraged me and assisted my journey:

Thanks to the members of the Utah Society for Science Fiction for taking me into the fold: Reuben, Bruce, Gary, Rocky and many others. Thanks to the fans and editors of the Salt Lake City fanzine Clavius for publishing my first cartoons, and pushing me into doing my first fan press book.
