Smoke + Honey is an fanmade anthology for Sora and Vanitas from the Kingdom Hearts games.

About

The anthology was announced on April 15, 2022, on rouwan's own Twitter account, featuring a lineup of around 31 artists[1].

Preorders opened on July 31, 2022[2]. Fans could buy the book by itself for $45 USD or in a bundle with a pouch, sticky notes, and a microfiber cloth for $55 USD. Buyers also had the option to buy the anthology in English or Japanese. By August 26, 2022, rouwan reported that over 300 orders had been placed, and that the preorders would be capped at 330 orders[3].

Production updates were recorded on a designated page on the project's bigcartel storefront[4]. On this page, rouwan regularly logged progress on the anthology's production, including many pictures of the merchandise arriving and being prepared for packaging. By March 5, 2023, all orders were reported to hve been shipped out[5]. The project's online store reopened on May 1 for second sales[6].

this book is amazing, I think it's a wonderful example of what's possible when you bring together the fancy print quality side of big fan anthology projects with a thoughtful curation of complimentary styles you tend to see more in smaller zines. such a cool project![22]

ive been on s+h antholo for over a year but i wanted it to be known that the guests were given a single prompt - two pages, decorate and sketch however you want. no rules on how much or how little. some guests went absolutely wild, some kept it simple n clean. its beautiful!

i think the best part of this project is being told by some guests and readers that working on/reading the book broke them out of art blocks!! gave them a project that they enjoyed going ham on. the end result is just crazy yall. thanks for all that :') yeehaw[23]
