About

What is this site about and why did you start it?:

This site is a central place to find ALL slash-centric and slash friendly lists, regardless of fandom or list service.

I started this website last May when Yahoo caved to pressure from the AFA, the American Family Association, a right wing fundamentalist group bent on removing all traces of S-E-X from any place they find it. :p Yahoo removed all groups categorized as adult from the Groups directory, while the categories are still accessible, there's nothing listed in them and they changed their Groups search function so that it would list any adult group in the results either, making it virtually impossible to find any group categorized as adult without first having the direct url to the group's Home page. Since the majority of slash lists are at Yahoo, it meant that most lists couldn't be found easily by non-members and so this website was founded to solve that problem. [1]

What lists are included on this site?:

Any list that is primarily slash content or is friendly to slash can be listed on this site. That includes fanfiction and discussion lists, update announcement lists, art and multimedia lists, fan get-together lists, whether regional, national, conventions, etc. The list can be based on any subject matter, TV shows, books, movies, songs, poetry, comics, video games, artwork, anime, cartoons, etc. If it's got slash, it can be included on this site. The exception would be lists with content that violate the law, such as child pornography or bestiality, these cannot be included on this website for obvious reasons, they're against the law and they violate my webhost's terms of service.

I also accept RP lists, that's lists involving Real People, generally celebrities of some kind, actors, wrestlers, musicians, politicians, etc. The same rules apply as lists with fictional characters, it has to be slash or slash friendly, can be fiction, discussion, art, multimedia, update announcements, etc. However, I don't allow lists about private individuals or lists that encourage hate for any reason or against anyone, whether public or private.

If RP freaks you out, you can avoid it fairly easily (or conversely, if that's what you're looking for, you can also find it fairly easily). I add "RP" to the beginning of the fandom name for all RP lists (example: RP-Boy Bands or RP-Wrestling) and if you view the index Sorted by Genre (slash, slash/het, all genres, etc), all the RP lists are in a separate Real People category. Whenever you're looking at an index that's sorted by fandom, all RP lists will be under R. (The sorting method is noted at the top of the index table on each page.)

I'll also throw in one last caveat, since I run this site, I pay for the webhosting and I do it purely for fun, the decision to include or exclude a list is up to me and is final and not subject to appeal. I won't include a list against a listowner's wishes but if a list is submitted and I decide not to include it on this site for any reason, whether listed here or not, that decision is mine and mine alone. This is mainly a CMA thing, I can't think of any other reasons I might exclude a list but I don't want someone flinging these FAQs back at me and insisting I add their list! :) [2]

I'm the listowner and I don't want my list on this site, how do I get it removed?:

I respect the right of listowners to control how and where their list is publicized and I'll be happy to remove your list if you don't want it listed here for any reason at all. Just go to the Submit a List page, fill in your listname and URL (so I can make sure I remove the correct list) and select "Delete or exclude list from this website". Or if you have any trouble with the form, there's an email link at the bottom of that page and you can email me with your listname and URL and request that it be removed. I'll remove it as quickly as possible, usually within 48 hours, although sometimes it may take longer due to RL interference. If you'd like to get a confirmation email from me, just put your email address in the description area and I'll email you back when the list has been removed. If your list isn't removed within a week, please contact me again since sometimes email gets lost in cyberspace black holes. :( [3]

Should I tell all my friends and mailing lists I'm on about this website?:

Please do! The more people that know about this site, the more lists that get submitted, the more you can find a list you need when you get into a new show or book or movie or character! So tell everyone you know but if you're posting the info on an email list, please be sure to abide by any list rules about posting website addresses and/or information that might be off-topic. I strive to make this website listowner-friendly, a resource that helps provide a way for interested folk to find the lists that will suit them and a good member of the slash and fandom community. [4]

Help, I'm so confused! There's so many lists and I can't find what I'm looking for!:

Lots of lists! But take comfort, there is help, near the top of each page on the website, just under the picture of two guys is a search box. Type in something, like "methos" or "stargate" or "daniel" and click on Find. As with all search engines, it's recommended that you use all lower case and if you're looking for a multiple word phrase or name, use quotes to enclose it, like "fox mulder" (include the quotes) or if you want to find lists about two people or multiple things, use a plus (+) sign, like "mulder+scully" (omit quotes).

(Webgoddess' note: I don't recommend searching on the term "slash" since you'll find pretty much every single list because, doh, it's a site for nothing but slash lists! :-)) [5]

Fan Comments

you may already know about this, but I just discovered it!

Some wonderful people just put together an amazing website. Yahoo no longer permits you to search adult sites! Great, huh! :-/ This makes it almost impossible for fans to find the slash lists housed there. Also, fans have become so indoctrinated into the onelist-egroups-yahoo culture that if your list is not on Yahoo, then it doesn't exist.

With luck, these fine folks will break that minimizing culture. Check out this site!

Bookmark it! You might find your favorite fandom there.

This list is already listed there, as are two others in SH. That's great! I have just added VenicePlace to the site (though I don't know when it will appear.) For anyone who is interested, VenicePlace was the first Starsky & Hutch slash discussion list on the net and is still going strong. VP has always been on private servers (originally, the only way you could have a list) which makes us hard to find. Anyone interested in learning more about VP, just drop me a line and I'll be happy to tell you more. [6]
