Set Sail! is a Kingdom Hearts zine centered around Sora, Riku, and Kairi, also known in the fandom as "The Destiny Trio".

About

This zine will focus on the friendship between Sora, Riku, and Kairi, with an underlying theme focusing on "beginnings" or "adventure".

The theme is a callback to the very first game, when our young heroes thought they could sail to other worlds on a tiny handmade raft.

A teaser for a Destiny Trio themed fanzine was made on April 18, 2022, on the project's newly created Twitter account. The project would be for-profit, feature only canon typical violence and themes, and gen only.

Applications for page artists, merch artists, and writers opened on August 6, 2022, and were scheudled to close on September 3, 2022. Application results were sent by September 10, 2022. The full contributor lineup was announced on September 21, 2022.

The project's online store opened for preorders from January 25 to March 11, 2024, with the following pricing tiers:

• Thalassa Shell ($15 USD) - Digital Zine, Digital Wallpaper, Emojis, Printable Bookmark, Embroidery Pattern
• Paopu ($27 USD) - Physical Zine
• Excalibur ($37 USD) - Physical Zine, A5 Print, A5 Sticker Sheet, 3 Die-cut stickers
• Highwind ($42 USD) - Physical Zine, A5 Print, A5 Sticker Sheet, 3 Die-cut stickers, Star Button, Acrylic Charm
• Destined Reunion ($60 USD, Limited) - Physical Zine, A5 Print, A5 Sticker Sheet, 3 Die-cut stickers, Star Button, Acrylic Charm, Layered Enamel Charm, Acrylic Standee

Digital bundles of the zine could be added onto physical orders at $10 USD for the Paopu bundle, and $5 for higher tier physical bundles. The Destined Reunion Bundle was limited to 100 units. On February 20, 2023, a giveaway for the limited bundle was hosted as a share campaign and ended on March 5, 2023. The limited bundle sold out on March 1, 2023, but was restocked for 25 more units on March 6, 2023.

The project's social media accounts posted regular updates on the zine's production, including a chart displaying the statuses of each item. By June 16, 2023, all items were recived by the shipping mod for quality check. Physical orders were scheduled to begin shipping on July 5, 2023. By July 18, all physical orders were shipped out. Digital buundles were sent out by August 6, 2023. Leftover sales opened on August 7, 2023, and closed on September 10, 2023.

On September 30, a post was made on the project's social media account regarding an incident of stolen content, specifically emotes made for the project, being distributed at ReConnect, a Kingdom Hearts fan event hosted by KH Guides. The post reiterated that all digital merchandise made for the project were for personal use only, and commercial use was prohibited without written approval from the original artists. The post cautioned eventgoers against buying redistributed art from the zine.

The project officially closed on December 31, 2023, with a reported total of 275 orders.
