Scorpio Attack! is a Blake's 7 zine edited and published by Jonathan Helm. It contains mostly interviews and articles and occasional fiction.
Five issues of the fanzine were produced between 2005 and 2008. There are posts on the Lysator mailing list mentioning the fanzine, most notably a post by Mr Helm himself on September 5th 2009 announcing that there would be no more issues and giving details of the contents of each issue, with a view to selling off his remaining stock of fanzines. A planned revival of the printed zine proved to be unfeasible and it was reborn in 2015 as a website[1].
Issue 1
Scorpio Attack! 1 was published in Autumn[2] 2005. It contains interviews with Alan Stevens, Tanith Lee, Martin Bower, Tony Attwood and James Follett, an Archive feature on the B7 episode "Rescue" and article on the DVDs, and a black-and-white comic strip.
Reactions and Reviews: Issue 1
I have to recomend this new title SCORPIO ATTACK! it is quite beautiful. From the embossed front cover through the interviews, the 'comic strip' in the last pages and the great back cover the quality of this little book is of a very high standard. A sentimental eye is cast back over the Marvel Monthly magazines from the 1980s which is almost like a reflective 'passing of the torch' twenty five years gap not withstanding. A very impressive first issue and a refreshing change to have a mag' of this size yet with so much packed into it. I genuinely hope we see more comic strips. While I enjoy seeing scenes from existing episodes recreated (and cleverly tied in with other material in the 'zine ) I would dearly love to read of a new set of adventures for our heroes, from any period in their travels, but then I adore comic strips! I can not recomend this fanzine enough, well worth the price tag, I wish I'd requested mine sooner, but then I don't have as long to wait for issue two. [3]
